Elementary School Student Accused Of Making Social Threats Toward Girl In Manassas: Police

A young boy has been accused of threatening a middle school girl in Manassas, authorities say.

On the evening of Wednesday, Feb. 15, an 11-year-old girl reportedly received a social media threat by a 12-year-old boy, according to a Prince William County Police Department spokesperson.

School officials were made aware of the threat the following day at the Pennington Traditional School, located at 9305 Stonewall Road, police say.

The school contacted police after hearing about the threat, and identified the 12-year-old boy as the suspect. 

After consultations with Juvenile Court Services, the case resulted in an informal action and will be handled through a juvenile diversion process, police confirm.
